LONDON — Lancashire all-rounder Andrew Flintoff was out for a duck against Durham as he looked to impress the England selectors ahead of the squad announcement for the first Test against New Zealand.

Flintoff was one of seven wickets to fall after lunch against the basement side at Old Trafford as Mark Davies took seven for 33 in the LV County Championship Division One.

Resuming on 75 for three, the hosts were hit when Mal Loye became Davies’ first victim of the afternoon session for 39 after Lancashire had reached 93 for four.

BOSTON — Four-time U.S. outdoor champion Khadevis Robinson held off a
lunging Nicholas Symmonds by a mere hundreth of a second to win the men’s 800
meters in 1:46.95 at the AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday.

The contest highlighted the fast and furious second day of the competition as
the sprints and men’s shotput took center stage.

Carolina Kluft has pulled out of the Swedish team for the IAAF World Indoor pentathlon competition in a fortnight’s time due to a hamstring injury.
